As last year drew to a close, it seemed that things were looking up, Sex in Cinema-speaking. Making a major shift in the rating system it had often, and loudly, defended, the Motion Picture Association of America deep-sixed the abhorred X and introduced the NC-17 rating (no children under 17 admitted).
