The HomecomingActually it was just another day. I kept at it through the morning and the afternoon but packed up at five. That's when the light gets sentimental at Taormina. I had just gotten divorced. I was off sentimentality. I told myself I painted and lived better that way.By 5:30 I was washed and shaved and went down for tea at the Mocambo. All the tourists do, but that never bothered me. It's fun to watch Viscount Charlie park, talking to his Porsche as if it were a recalcitrant Doberman....
